Translating evidence of costs and benefits of support at home in later stage dementia: to the NHS, social care and family carers
Sight and Mind CIC are a co-investigator on this research project, funded by an NIHR Programme Development Grant, with Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust and The University of Manchester. This project builds on The Effective Home Support in Dementia Care programme which ran from 2013 to 2020, to mobilise knowledge to NHS and social care commissioners and, crucially, family carers of those with dementia.
One of the project’s outputs is an interactive resource of materials for family carers and commissioners and also NHS and social care staff providing care and support to people living with dementia in their own homes. This resource presents evidence from the research in an easily accessible manner for managers and commissioners to help inform service commissioning and practice.
